Description of Work
The Carolina Endometrial Cancer Study (CECS) seeks a part-time nurse-interviewer to conduct a sub-study in participants' homes. The nurse-interviewer must be able to strictly adhere to study protocols. Duties will include the collection of additional health information beyond that collected by CECS's phone interviewers (e.g., medications, blood pressure, and bodily measurements such as leg circumference). The nurse-interviewer will also collect completed questionnaires and worksheets, self-administered bodily measurements, and/or retrieve mailed self-collection microbiome specimen kits, all of which will be sent shortly before the in-home visit, according to those parts to which the participant consents.
This sub-study aims to recruit fifty participants, randomly chosen from enrolled CECS participants. The nurse-interviewer will be expected conduct the in-home visit in a timely manner, though at a time convenient to both the participant and themselves, and conducting a telephone wellness screening (related to COVID-19) no more than 24-hours before the visit. After each visit, the nurse-interviewer will deliver collected specimens directly to the UNC BioSpecimen Processing Facility and the other collected materials to CECS's office.
Requirements include the reliable transportation and the ability to travel up to 100 miles from Chapel Hill, NC; degree/NC nursing license; and diligent adherence to all best practices and regulations related to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institution. NC nursing license.
