School Transportation Driver *Up to $31/ HR

Sunrise Transportation, LLC is actively hiring school bus drivers for their Chicago (Vincennes) location. We are looking for safe, friendly drivers to help transport our students to and from school. Experience is not needed for this position; our elite team of trainers will teach and train you to be a license and certified School Bus Driver.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Be at least 23 years old
• Possess a valid driver’s license for 3 continuous years without serious traffic violations
• The ability to obtain a Class B CDL with a Passenger Endorsement and a School Bus Permit
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Pass a school bus driver background check, drug screen, and a physical

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A SCHOOL DRIVER

• Safely transport students
• Assist students in the loading and unloading process
• Good customer and communication skills
• Ensure on-time schedule and drive the speed limit
• Complete pre/post trip inspections of the bus
• Check for sleeping children after every route ensuring the bus is empty
• Conduct emergency evacuations
• Read and understand route sheets and maps
• Attend all Safety and Training meetings
• The ability to work early mornings
• Clean and disinfect school bus daily
• The ability to move up and down the bus stairs and aisle easily

Required qualifications:

• 21+ years or older

• Valid driver's license
