We are looking for a Winter Ground Maintenance Technician for our Freeport, Maine locations.

Position Purpose: Performs winter grounds maintenance tasks and supports facilities projects. Will operate groundskeeping equipment and/or power tools. Participates in and assumes responsibility for assigned winter snow removal and preventive maintenance.


Responsibilities:

  • Grounds Maintenance / Snow removal (plowing, snow blowing, shoveling).
  • Maintain low-level Grounds equipment.
  • Ability to perform assigned GM tasks: Painting and misc. repairs upon request.
  • Report Grounds-related issues / concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Know and follow all safety rules and procedures. Report any unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Completes selected repairs and maintenance to building components such as doors, windows, acoustical ceilings, and floor coverings.
  • Assists in the construction of items such as picnic tables, barricades, sawhorses, etc.
  • Performs other maintenance functions as skills and workload allows.
  • Provides communication to co-workers through e-mail, voice mail, and daily interface.
  • Employees working in this position will be expected and MUST be available to work fluctuating schedules which may exceed forty hours per week, according to weather and business demands.

Education Level: High School or GED
Experience: Experience in landscaping, equipment operation and basic construction preferred. 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Performs all the functions of General Maintenance Technician I.
  • Continuous mental and visual attention, with manual coordination due to equipment and tools used: driving of company vehicles, tractors, snowblowers, plows, saws, painting.
  • Ability to use a computer, including email and Microsoft Office.
  • Self-driven
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs (30% of the time).
  • Standing up to 8 hrs. per day.
  • Dexterity, repetitive motion. Frequently handling of lightweight materials in difficult work positions.
  • Valid, clean driver’s license.
