Mover – Tempe campus Arizona State University FDM FM Moving & Events Services Campus: Tempe 72495BR Job Description Facilities Management, Tempe campus, seeks a Mover to move heavy objects, furniture, and equipment. Salary Range $13.08 per hour. ASU offers a comprehensive benefits package with the State of Arizona. Close Date 27-October-2021 is the initial close date. Essential Duties Provide physical labor to move, stage, and organize university assets including furniture, appliances, equipment, and supplies. Frequently communicate with customers on work activities and work progress. Utilize hand tools (e.g. screw driver, pliers, wrenches, socket wrenches) and power tools (e.g. drill). Operate dollies/handcarts, forklift and other moving equipment. Deliver and set up chairs and tables for university functions. Wear personal protective equipment (e.g. safety glasses, hard hat, gloves). Drive university vehicle. Clearly communicate to perform essential functions of the job. DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 6:00AM-2:30PM Minimum Qualifications Any experience which provides knowledge, skills and ability to perform the work. Employee must possess a valid US Drivers license of the appropriate class and required endorsements throughout employment. Desired Qualifications Experience with professional moving/event setup and teardowns Experience with unloading shipments Experience with moving/hauling Experience with furniture/appliance deliver and setup Experience with event venue/equipment rental industry Experience with customer service Experience utilizing hand/power tools, hand-trucks, dollies, and lift gates Experience in using Microsoft Office software including Outlook email. Evidence of effective communication skills Working Environment Campus environment spaces include professional offices, academic classrooms/laboratories, mechanical/equipment, retail, and exterior. Work involves moving, assembling, and disassembling furniture and equipment in all space types. Standing/walking on feet for multiple hours per day. Lift/push/pull and carry objects up to 100 pounds. Ability to push and/or pull approximately 200-300 pound maintenance carts to transport tools and equipment throughout campus to job site. Work for long periods of time outside in varied temperatures. Utilize computerized work order management system to document task progress/completion.
