Protegé Agent

A Protege Agent position with our agency offers you endless opportunities within our company, Farmers Insurance, and the insurance industry. We provide you with training, a licensing stipend, and prospects in order to position you to solicit, propose, and advise on the insurance portfolios of individuals and businesses.

Successful completion of the Farmers Protege Agent Program gives you the opportunity to purchase or start your own agency without having to meet the $50,000 financial savings requirement in the traditional agent program. At the end of 12 months, you will have the option to stay on with the Caballaro Agency as an agent associate or start your own agency with Farmers Insurance. You will have the tools, training, and confidence to choose either path.

Hands On Training

• Solicits for new business via telephone, networking, and other lead sources.
• Develop insurance quotes, makes sales presentations, and closes sales.
• Develop ongoing networking relationships with Real Estate Agents, Mortgage Lenders, Title Companies, Auto Dealers, etc.
• Develop new Financial Services opportunities.
• Treat each customer contact as a cross and up-sell opportunity including financial products.
• Maintain client relationships with follow up phone calls.
• Contact businesses and private individuals by telephone to promote products, services and/or referral programs.

• Possess a genuine willingness to learn, be intuitive and resourceful and be coachable.
• Possess an upbeat, positive and enthusiastic attitude.
• Create relationships from a cold start.
• Proficiency to multi-task, follow-thru and follow-up.
• A Property & Casualty license is preferred but will train good individual.
• Ability to obtain or possess an active Life & Health Insurance license.
• Ability to tactfully handle stressful and difficult situations.
• Bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish is beneficial.
