The Opportunity

Direct all aspects of Feeding America's compensation, performance management and reward functions. Develop and continually improve processes that support effective and transparent goal setting, promote constructive accountability and facilitate high quality coaching and feedback. Develop and administer equitable and transparent systems for determining job level and compensation. Develop and promote processes and tools that provide broad opportunities for team members to recognize others and be recognized for their contributions to Feeding America's mission. Serve as an HR Partner for assigned departments to provide consultation and guidance across the full spectrum of human resources processes, programs and issues.

Salary Range: $130,000 to $165,000+ Based on Experience

Requirements:
  • Design and administer compensation programs/policies that are market-competitive, provide for internal equity and incentivize exceptional team and individual performance. Develop and regularly review Feeding America's merit-based compensation philosophy, structure and process including conducting regular market pay studies and establishing processes to systematically monitor pay equity.
  • Lead the development and administration of annual incentive plans and/or bonus programs for employees.
  • Design and deliver communication processes and tools that foster transparency and understanding of compensation processes and practices. Develop decision making structures related to pay and promotion that empower management decision making while ensuring equitable outcomes for staff.
  • Direct the development and ongoing improvement of performance management processes that facilitate the creation of strategically aligned and ambitious goals, incentivize collaboration, teamwork and exceptional individual performance and promote accountability for both delivery of results and supporting a values-driven culture.
  • Direct the continued development and improvement of the Career Framework as a tool to support effective career planning and development. Also ensure the career framework continues to function as an effective tool for transparently and equitably levelling positions within the organization to determine title and compensation.
  • Guide the midyear promotion, midyear review and year end review processes ensuring transparent and equitable decision making across the organization as well as effective communication and constructive feedback.
  • Provide human resources consulting and support to assigned departments to ensure the effective implementation of HR processes and programs, equitable resolution of employee relations issues and effective delivery of HR solutions.
  • Develop and implement formal and informal programs to provide employee recognition and rewards and promote Feeding America's values and desired culture.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of accurate, functional, up to date job descriptions for all positions within the organization.
  • Coordinate the administration of executive compensation plans and support planning and execution of Board Executive Compensation Committee meeting.

Required Technical Competencies, Experience & Certifications
  • Eight to ten 8-10 years of progressive human resources leadership experience with a least five years in compensation planning and administration.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and administering compensation and reward systems including market based pay structures, formal job evaluation systems and career planning and development tools.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and administering performance management systems including working with leaders to promote effective coaching and feedback and calibrate performance and promotion decision making.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel (formula creation, pivot tables) and the attention to detail required when providing compensation data and recommendations to all levels of the organization including the Board of Directors.
  • Experience developing and implementing innovative recognition systems for employees.
  • Experience providing direct human resources support to senior leaders including employee relations and HR solutions implementation.
