Education- Individuals who provide individual services through mobile therapy services must meet one of the following:

(1) Be licensed in this Commonwealth as a psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist or clinical social worker.

(2) Be licensed in this Commonwealth as a social worker or a behavior specialist and have a graduate degree that required a clinical or mental health direct service practicum from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or have an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. The Department will accept a general equivalency report from the listed evaluator agencies to verify a foreign degree or its equivalency.

(3) Have a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in providing mental health direct services to children, youth or young adults and a graduate degree with at least nine credits specific to clinical practice in psychology, social work or counseling from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. The Department will accept a general equivalency report from the listed evaluator agencies to verify a foreign degree or its equivalency.

(4) Completed a clinical or mental health direct service practicum and have a graduate degree with a least nine credits specific to clinical practice in psychology, social work, education, counseling or a related field from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or have an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. The Department will accept a general equivalency report from the listed evaluator agencies to verify a foreign degree or its equivalency.

Experience: The Mobile Therapist shall have a minimum of 1-year experience in a mental health or social service setting. Experience should include direct contact with service recipients, especially children and adolescents in the CASSP system.

The Mobile Therapist will be responsible for providing high quality, individual and family therapy in the home, school and community settings. Employment is at will and voluntarily entered, and you are free to resign at will, at any time, with or without notice, with or without cause. The Mobile Therapist reports directly to the IBHS Clinical Director and also is supervised indirectly by the Executive Director. All practices performed by the Mobile Therapist are legal, moral, ethical, and reflect the mission and vision of the agency.

Job Duties- The clinical mobile therapist is an “as available” employee who shall be responsible to:

1. Mobile therapy services consist of individual therapy, family therapy, development and revision of the ITP, assistance with crisis stabilization and assistance with addressing problems the child, youth or young adult has encountered.

2. Attend all mandatory supervision meetings and trainings as outlined in chapter 5240.

3. Conduct BHT supervisions for assigned list of BHT (no more than a caseload of 9). Supervisions will be face to face. Supervision of BHT will be compensated at the current supervisory rate.

4. Review BHT notes and treatment weekly to ensure accuracy and implantation of the ITP.

5. Within 15 days of the initiation of services and prior to completing an ITP, the BC shall complete a face-to-face assessment for the child, youth or young adult

6. A written ITP shall be completed within 30 days after the initiation of a service and be based on the assessment completed in accordance with § 5240.21

7. Provide communication, consultation and collateral contacts with all individuals, agencies and facilities relevant to the treatment of the child, youth, or young adult being served.

8. The MT can meet with the parent, teacher, or other school personnel to gather information or coordinate treatment and can develop behavior programs for use in any setting.

9. Responsibilities of the MT include assessment of the strengths and therapeutic needs of child, youth, and young adult and family via active listening, asking questions, and exchanging information with the child and family, and inclusion of the child as participants in his/her own treatment.

10. The MT may include any of the following people in a therapy session: the child alone, the entire family or subsets of the family, the family and a community resource person (i.e., minister, scoutmaster, mentor, community leader, etc.), the teacher, guidance counselor, or principal and any subsystem of the above and clinically agreed upon.

11. The MT will support parental participation in Inter-Agency Treatment Team meetings, treatment plan development and reviews, and IEP meetings.

12. The MT will help determine if other support services are needed.

13. The MT will collaborate with the family to establish daily routines during times of crisis and transition.

14. The MT will collaborate with other involved professionals and agencies in order to provide unified services and continuity of care to the child and family.

15. The Mobile Therapist will conduct individual therapy with the child, youth, or young adult, utilizing evidence-based techniques

16. Complete discharge summaries and aftercare plans in a timely manner.

17. Follow agency guidelines as outlined in the employee manual, HIPAA manual and memos that are distributed to address company procedures or employee conduct.

18. Maintain consumer records in accordance with agency policies and protect these records by following agency policies regarding privacy of confidential healthcare information.

19. Exercise a high level of professional conduct when interacting with staff, other members of the professional community, consumers and all individuals associated with them in order to foster good will and collaborative efforts.
