Primary Purpose:

The primary purpose of the SQL Developer is to provide system solutions and management support to the business enterprise.

Work Performed:

The SQL Developer will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments:

    -Develop and maintain the ETL processes into our datawarehouse and other systems;
    -Create, modify and test various SQL queries, stored procedures and views to obtain data from diverse source systems and platforms;
    -Follow Microsoft SQL and database best practices to improve the operational reporting environment with a focus on resolving problems raised by team members, stakeholders and end users;
    -Assist in the successful roll-out of new SQL based applications and enhancements of software;
    -Review and monitor data integrity using data existing validation tools (Validatar) or tools developed in-house;
    -Monitor incoming ETL processes, troubleshoot issues that arise, and mitigate future data failures by developing sustainable solutions for data ingress and egress into the warehouse and ancillary reporting tools;
    -Improve existing SQL procedures, Window services / .NET programs that are used to transform and load data.
    -Responsible for data profiling, source-target mappings, ETL development, SQL tuning and optimization, testing and implementation;
    -Prepare documentation for existing and new development that outlines purpose, workflow, ETL process, ancillary tools/systems involved, and additional comments for all stakeholders and internal team.
    -Provide on-going support for custom code, data validation and data warehouse tools used for multiple departments;
    -Consult in the design and automation of data flow into our data warehouse with team and other technical resources using various data manipulation languages and tools (API, SQL, Salesforce, .txt files, Alteryx, PowerShell, etc).
    -Assist in the evaluation of new tools to include identify needs, research vendors, participate in demos and trial-period implementations, and provide feedback;
    -Provide technical leadership that fosters a team environment, provides mentorship and feedback to business users and other both technical and non-technical resources;
    -Serve as a liaison to both internal and external business users regarding issues that may affect business or reporting reliability, access, and/or performance; and
    -Any and all other work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position.
