Job Description
Holistic Counseling Services is looking for a Virginia Resident in Counseling to provide a hybrid of virtual and in person therapeutic services. 85% of job is remote (tele-health sessions),15% in the Mosby Tower office (for in person sessions). This amounts to only about four hours of office work a week!
Work/life balance and employee overall wellness is extremely valued at this agency.
Up to two hours a week of supervision with a board approved supervisor will be provided.
Scheduling is based on client's needs, and resident's availability, not employer, making for extremely flexible scheduling. Only exception to this would be in scheduling supervision time. Office is closed on all major holidays, so employee is not required to work on these days.
Minimum requirement of 20 clients a week within 60 days of hire if possible.
Employee is able to continue own advertising through platforms such as psychology today. Employer will assist with connecting employee with referrals to build up caseload.
Preference for individual's with knowledge and experience in working with youth and families in addition to adults. Familiarity with CBT, psychodynamic, solution focused and DBT techniques. Practice primarily works with individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, substance abuse and personality disorders. Experience with eating disorders and substance abuse a plus.
Pay is bi-weekly and in the form of direct deposit through an ADP payroll company.

Responsibilities
- Advertising/marketing services through a platform such as psychology today for client referrals
- Responding to client referrals for services in a timely matter
- Providing 53 minute individual therapy services (remainder of hour for documentation of session)
- Providing 30-45 minute family/couples therapy services if applicable (remainder of hour for documentation of session)
- Scheduling appointments for clients (via email/phone calls, or if prefers can be done through this and a combo of an online booking widget)
- Ensuring clients have all required documentation completed prior to initial session
- Informing clients of limits to confidentiality and business policies at first session.
- Continually assessing client needs, symptoms to ensure right quality of care is being provided.
- Recognizing signs when a higher level of care may be needed, or connection to additional community resources congruent with therapy
- Applying the stages of change to each individual case and reviewing this periodically to assess if a client may need an increase or decrease in session frequency (just a mental note throughout sessions does not need to be documented)
- Consistently providing sessions to clients based on their level of care needed (i.e. if a client wants weekly, only taking on a client with this need if has availability to accommodate once a week sessions)
- Processing cases in weekly supervision to assist with monitoring of symptoms, updates on stages of change/progress, continuity of care and all encompassing treatment.
- Completing safety plans/risk assessment with client and supervisor as needed.
- Consulting with supervisor as needed, outside of supervision, when a challenging case or time sensitive risk matter arises
- Mandated reported for CPS, APS if certain abuse or neglect is reported
- Being familiar with policies regarding what client's should do in the case of a mental health emergency
- Conveying to supervisor and clients, scheduled leave and blocking time off calendar to ensure sessions are not scheduled during this time.
- Conveying to supervisor if employee is sick or has an emergency so employees clients of the day can be appropriately notified.
- Occasionally sending tools via therapist aid to clients to assist with their self-growth they are seeking in between sessions.

- MA in Counseling in Virginia
- Experience in using EHR for documentation
- Experience working with youth and young adults in an outpatient setting

- Experience with substance abuse, trauma and/or eating disorders a plus
