Principal Engineer I - Full-time

JOB SUMMARY: Perform network engineering and build, test, document, and troubleshoot architectures to enable infrastructure-based solutions in production and lab environments. Leverage network fundamentals to design computer networks. Design highly redundant and scalable solutions that meet available budgets and adhere to standard operating procedures. Oversee Wireless Technology lab infrastructure distributed across the Charter’s offices. Develop, modify, enhance, and implement network infrastructure solutions and related applications in the lab environments to enable testing of new wireless products. Document network environments and infrastructure changes in a centralized infrastructure database to keep track of lab modifications. Develop, modify, enhance, test, and document network infrastructure solutions and related applications for solutions to be deployed in production customer facing environments, including utilizing the network function virtualization process. Conduct automation and scripting for network environments. Document, modify, and implement network services including IP address management, network monitoring, and centralized network authentication services for the lab environment. Participate in and lead technical working sessions from a network infrastructure perspective between development, test, and production groups. Provide network infrastructure technical guidance for troubleshooting working sessions and network infrastructure. Develop, modify, and enhance a plan of record of what the network infrastructure team will be working on for the calendar year.

EDUCATION/
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 3 years of experience documenting network environments; troubleshooting network infrastructure; and working in network engineering. 2 years of experience leveraging network fundamentals to design computer networks and using network function virtualization processes. 1 year of experience conducting automation and scripting for network environments.

Salaries depend on geography, experience, and education; negotiations begin at $107,600.00.

The pay for this position has a salary range of $107,600.00 to $191,200.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
