Medical Information Manager

Job Description

500 million patients were touched by Sandoz generic and biosimilar medicines in 2021 and while we're proud of this, we know there is more we could do to continue to help pioneer access to medicines for people around the world.
The Medical Information & Communication Manager will provide timely, accurate and balanced first point of contact medical/scientific and technical information for telephoned (and maybe video conference - Real Time Medical Information) medical questions and issues in real time; document medical inquiries; create positive customer interactions; capture potential adverse events; and provide disease state and product training to internal groups.
Major Accountabilities
Program Oversight
* Lead and deliver timely and high-quality support for all Medical Information projects with ownership and accountabilities, including:
* Coordinate information flow from internal and external sources to facilitate the dissemination of accurate, timely, consistent, and balanced information to internal personnel and external customers (health care professionals).
* Research and respond with written and oral inquiries from internal and external customers.
* Proactively develop medical response documents, create unique responses, and revise/update existing documents in database.
* Search, evaluate, and summarize the published medical and scientific literature
* Work independently yet ensure strategic alignment of information with key internal stakeholders and experts, as necessary.
* Identify emerging medical trends, marketplace issues (e.g., Medical Inquiry Trends, Business Intelligence) and quality assurance issues and share with appropriate personnel.
* Participate in the creation of, and ensure adherence to, departmental and corporate policies and quality standards.

Minimum requirements

Requirements:
* PharmD, healthcare-related PhD, or MD is required with significant industry or related medical information experience preferred. Post-graduate specialty training is desirable.
* At least 2 to 4 years of experience in a drug information setting is preferred. Successful professional with 2+ years of pharmaceutical experience in drug information setting (including fellowship). Customer-oriented approach and ability to effectively work in cross-functional teams
* Strong knowledge of medical terminology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, pharmacotherapeutics, and laboratory diagnostic tests.
* Knowledge of drug information processes and adverse event reporting regulations a must
* Computer literacy is required.
* Strong ability to analyze and synthesize emerging scientific data and put into strategic context.
