  • POSITION SUMMARY - $2,500 sign on bonus!!
    • As a member of the clinical nursing leadership team and in collaboration with Practice Managers, demonstrates 24 hour accountability for clinical, operational, human resources, and financial management of the EPN/S practice(s). Is responsible for the management of the nursing and clinical support staff in the EPN/S Practice(s), and is accountable for the delivery of high quality patient care in a work environment conducive to learning, professional growth, accountability and autonomy.
  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Clinical Management
      • Ensures department functioning in accordance with regulatory agencies, state statutes, and practice standards, i. e., TJC, OSHA, CMS, HIPAA.
      • Promotes use of evidence-based clinical practice.
      • Champions the values of the EHS Professional Practice Model and uses the Elliot s nursing theory to guide all dimensions of nursing practice.
      • Supports the Elliot Health System policies and procedures for the delivery of safe patient care and collaborate in the review and revision of nursing departmental policies, procedures, and protocols, guidelines, and standards of care.
      • Collaborates with Nursing Leadership as needed to develop, implement, and monitor departmental educational programs.
    • Operations Management
      • Fosters participation in the development and implementation of annual departmental goals and objectives, which are consistent with those of Elliot Health System and in collaboration with the Ambulatory Nursing Director, Practice Manager, and other members of the health care team.
      • Participates and/or supports in the development of business and marketing plans.
      • Ensures that appropriate experience mix and number of staff are available to meet the needs of the patient population.
      • Collaborates on interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate quality management activities consistent with national benchmarking and public reporting.
    • Human Resources Management
      • In conjunction with Human Resources Department, interviews and selects candidates for employment. Initiates and approves personnel activities including, but not limited to hiring, transferring, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and terminating, with the support of the Director as needed.
      • Consistent with the principles of TeamSTEPPS, fosters positive interdisciplinary communications and teamwork.
      • In collaboration with the Ambulatory Nursing Director, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Clinical Nurse Educator, Practice Managers, establishes and communicates performance expectations and assist with development of professional goals of each staff member. Monitors and evaluates staff performance. Conducts timely in-the-moment coaching and annual performance evaluations.
      • Supports the shared governance structure and staff involvement in committees, projects, educational programs, and unit goals.
      • Motivates and encourages participation in the Professional Nursing Advancement Program.
      • Evaluates trends related to vacancy and turnover. Develops plans to address needs of department.
      • Encourages and supports staff to achieve specialty certification.
    • Financial Management
      • Collaborates with the Practice Manger to prepare annual departmental budget including projected office visits, revenues, staffing plans, operating expenses and capital related requests. Involves staff and medical staff when possible.
      • Manages FTE levels and PCMH staffing standards.
      • Monitors and reports monthly financials, identify variances, and recommend improvements to the Practice Managers.
      • Monitors, approves, and submits complete and accurate payroll for the clinical staff.
    • Professional Development
      • Develop, and maintain currency in leadership and management knowledge and skills.
      • Demonstrates active involvement in hospital and/or nursing committees.
      • Maintains membership in a professional organization and/or local community organizations and boards.
  • REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
    • Ability to facilitate patient care decision-making consistent with national and specialty standards and recommendations for nursing practice.
    • Ability to implement and support the use of evidence-based best practice guidelines developed and endorsed by national organizations.
    • Model skilled communication, true collaboration, effective decision-making, meaningful recognition, and authentic leadership, as described in Establishing and Sustaining Healthy Work Environments (AACN, 2005).
    • Ability to maintain clinical knowledge for specialty area or department.
  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE
    • Education: Graduate of an accredited or NLN approved RN program required. BSN or higher in Nursing required; Master's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare related field preferred.
    • Experience: Three (3) years of recent ambulatory clinical experience required. Previous management or leadership experience preferred.
    • Certification/Licensure: Current registration in the State of NH as a registered nurse required. Professional specialty certification required or obtains within six months of hire.
