Seeking a landscape maintenance laborer that wants to grow with us. A gardener is a member of the landscape crew that supports the crew leader and performs the duties and tasks assigned to them by the crewleader and/or the owner, including mow, trim, blow, weeding, and other landscaping. The rate of pay depends on experience, starting at $10.00 per hour. The job is seasonal, though snow removal positions may be available in the winter.


Field Operation/Responsibilities
• Report to work on time.

• Mow, trim, weedeat, and blow
• Change and sharpen blades safely.
• Remove loose trash and debris from landscape area before mowing.
• Remove weeds from sidewalks, curb lines, and beds.
• Remove dead flower heads from annual and perennial flowers.
• Fuel equipment daily and record fuel usage.
• Report property damage to Foreman or Lead Person.
• Help crew load and unload equipment at the job site.
• Review and sign time sheet weekly.
• Remove tree suckers.
Client Relations
• Know who the client is.
• Know where the client parks his/her car.
• Be aware of walkways he/she uses to get to their office.
• Always be courteous.
• Always wear a clean uniform.
• Know what to do if a client or anyone else asks a question.
Quality Control
• Learn how to mow patterns and change pattern each week without being told.
• Remove trash from landscape areas.
• Remove weeds from sidewalks, curb lines, and mulch beds.
• Remove dead flower heads from annual and perennial flowers.
• Learn the proper way to fertilize turf.
• Learn to use the proper equipment for the job being performed.
Equipment Use
• Become certified in the training/certification program for the designated pieces of equipment (21” mower, 36” mower, 48” & 60” mower, riding mower, blower, edger and weedeater).
• Learn to service/perform the necessary preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Learn the proper loading and unloading of equipment.
• Learn the proper way to change and sharpen blades safely.
• Know exactly what fuel each piece of equipment requires.
Safety
• Attend/participate in company orientation program before performing any work.
• Learn to adhere to all company safety rules/policies.
• Must attend and participate in all tailgate meetings.
• Learn the proper way to change and sharpen blades safely.
• Must use appropriate safety equipment when necessary.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Landscape maintenance experience is preferred, including experience on mowers, edgers, weedeaters, etc.
