Medical Assistant Worker Job Description

We are hiring a Medical Assistant worker to join our team. The right candidate will take medical histories and record vital signs, explain treatment procedures to patients, prepare patients for examination, and assist the physician during the examination. To do well in this role you should have previous experience in Medical Assisting, have had the proper education, and be knowledgeable in Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Medical Assistant Worker Responsibilities:

The Medical Assistant will perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running smoothly.

Checking and recording vital signs

Reporting and recording accurate patient history summaries

Preparing patients for exams and procedures

Scheduling and confirming appointments

Telephone triage

Preparing charts

Assisting with office procedures under the direction of the physician’s requirements

Projects as assigned

Medical Assistant Worker Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience working in a medical assistant position

Previous experience working with Athena health highly desirable

Previous experience working in an OB/GYN environment highly desirable

Highly organized and detail oriented

Excellent communication skills oral and written; able to communicate effectively with patients

and all levels within the care center

Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities

Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced office environment

Experience with medical coding

EMR experience

Eye for detail.

Professional presentation and attitude.

Ability to maintain focus while working individually.

Strong time management skills.

Valid Driver License Required.

Ability to pass background check and drug test.

Schedule:

Monday to Thursday (8:30-5:30pm)

Friday (8:30-1:30)

• Athenahealth (Preferred)
• OBGYN 1 year (Preferred)
• Medical assistant 1 year (Preferred)

Language:

• Bilingual in Spanish and English

Compensation depends on experience in Gynecology and Obstetrics and Athena Health (EMR)

Varies from $16.50 - $22.00
