Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Plans, adapts, and schedules an age-appropriate curriculum involving various activities to stimulate children’s cognitive skills, abilities, and development;
· Provides continuous supervision to children to ensure their health and safety of children;
· Maintains rooms and play areas in a clean, sanitized, orderly, and safe condition; sets up rooms and areas for various activities such as lunch, snacks, naps, games, etc.;
· Prepares snacks and meals
· Cleans and disinfects rooms before and after use (indoor and outdoor classrooms, dining room, bathroom, and kitchen).
· Records and maintains daily journal, health screening, observations of children’s behavior, milestones, developments, and other documents necessary to meet and exceed quality services;
· Maintains a positive relationship with parents and close communication addressing concerns on daily basis;
· Maintains daily accurate attendance (login and food program);
· Changes diapers and/or assists in toilet training as appropriate;
· Requests children’s supplies from parents and materials for classroom use from the director;
· Maintains current knowledge in the field of Early Childhood Development (training, workshops, classes, etc.);
· Drop-off and pick up kids from school (as-needed basis);
· Models good attitude, communication, and hygiene skills;
· Provides warm, loving, understanding, and enthusiastic personality at all times;
· Understands and applies mission statement and objectives;
· No corporal punishment allowed. There is no yelling, threatening, intimidating, bullying, skipping food as punishment, and other unreasonable punishments that can impact the mental and emotional growth of a child.
