Diesel Technician

Position: Truck Mechanic (Levels A, B, C)

Job Summary:

As a Truck Mechanic at Campbell Supply, you will play a vital role in ensuring the proper maintenance, repair, and functionality of trucks. You will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, utilizing your expertise to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair various mechanical issues. The position offers growth opportunities and three different levels (A, B, C) based on experience and skill level.

Responsibilities:

Level A:

• Strong diagnostic skills: Ability to effectively diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in trucks.
• Advanced technical knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems, with the ability to repair and replace components.
• Attention to detail: Meticulous in inspecting and identifying potential problems and ensuring precision in repairs.
• Problem-solving: Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, develop innovative solutions, and implement effective repair strategies.
• Time management: Efficiently prioritize tasks, manage workload, and complete repairs within specified timelines.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information and collaborate with team members.

Level B:

• Diagnostic proficiency: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot various mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in trucks.
• Technical knowledge: Solid understanding of diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems, with the capability to repair and replace components.
• Attention to detail: Thorough in inspecting and detecting potential problems and ensuring accuracy in repairs.
• Problem-solving: Proficient in identifying and resolving mechanical issues efficiently and effectively.
• Time management: Skillful in managing time, prioritizing tasks, and completing repairs within established timelines.
• Communication: Good communication skills to convey technical information and collaborate with colleagues effectively.

Level C:

• Basic diagnostics: Capability to perform basic diagnostic procedures and identify common mechanical issues in trucks.
• Technical understanding: Familiarity with diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems, with the willingness to learn and develop skills further.
• Attention to detail: Attentive to detail to perform tasks accurately and follow repair procedures diligently.
• Problem-solving: Eagerness to learn and improve problem-solving abilities, seeking guidance when necessary.
• Time management: Ability to manage time effectively, complete assigned tasks, and seek opportunities for growth.
• Communication: Good interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and follow instructions.

Qualifications:

Level A:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a truck mechanic or in a similar role.
• Proven expertise in diagnosing and repairing various truck systems and components.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Level B:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a truck mechanic or in a similar role.
• Proficient in diagnosing and repairing various truck systems and components.
• Solid understanding of diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Level C:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a truck mechanic or in a similar role.
• Basic knowledge of diagnosing and repairing truck systems and components.
• Understanding of diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Willingness to learn and develop skills in truck maintenance and repair.
• Detail-oriented and committed to delivering quality work.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
