Full Time Nights

- Associates in Respiratory
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or respiratory related sciences
- Completion of Respiratory Therapy education program and current licensure by the state of Oregon and experience specific to the posted Advanced Practitioner specialty position. Such experience should indicate that the applicant would be able to demonstrate advanced competencies after completion of orientation(s). The Respiratory Care Practitioner 3 can practice in all adult areas of the hospital and may specialize in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit/Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Adult Critical Care Specialist or act as department liaison and lead for administrative, training and system wide alignment.
- Current or former RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- RT-P: Respiratory Therapy - Permanent license by the Oregon Health Authority (OHA)
- BLS: Basic Life Support)
- NRP: Neonatal Resuscitation Program

An Advanced Respiratory Care Practitioner has acquired additional credentialing and competencies as outlined by Respiratory leadership. Respiratory Care Practitioners interview examine and care for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders using their knowledge of scientific principles underlying cardiopulmonary physiology and pathophysiology with their knowledge of biomedical engineering and technology to assess, educate and treat patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.
QUALIFICATIONS
As an RCP 3 you'll have the opportunity to work with and become:
NICU
Be a vital member in the NICU and Pediatric resuscitation team
Attend all high-risk deliveries
Intubation of neonates
Management of ventilators
Be a vital member of the pediatric care team using advanced scoring systems
Experts in Nitric usage
Participate in out of house Neonatal transports as a member of the transport team necessary requirements for certification
Attend every neonatal/pediatric code/RRT and traumas
ACCS
Experts in adult critical care elements related to Respiratory Therapy
Resource or outreach Respiratory Therapist to assist co-workers and physicians on shift
Igel placement in critical patient situations
Insert arterial lines as a member of the ACCS Teams
Adult critical care experts on VDR, IPV, TPP, independent lung ventilation, Heliox and bronchotron
Super user for all respiratory equipment in order to educate and assist others
Vital member in adult codes and RRTs, including pediatric RRT
Level II trauma
