JOB SUMMARY

Delivers room service to guests during the shift by taking orders over the phone and delivering food and beverages to guests' rooms in a prompt and courteous manner.

JOB DUTIES

• Answers room service phone promptly and professionally, using the guest's surname at least two times during call, if possible. Answers guests' questions regarding menu, specials, etc., and takes food & beverage orders.

• Prepares dining carts with tablecloths and assembles items such as condiments, dressings, glassware, etc., that are necessary to complete orders.

• Delivers food and beverages to hotel guest rooms in a timely manner. Greets guests upon arrival, sets up table and serves orders.

• Places guests' orders in P.O.S. and generates check. Presents checks at time of food delivery and completes payment transactions in accordance with standard procedures.

• Maintains tray tracking system and ensures trays are removed from guest corridors regularly.

• Replenishes clean linens, silverware, glassware and condiments and keeps the work area neat and organized.

• Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

-Prior food service experience, in room dining experience preferred
-General knowledge of restaurant or hotel operations preferred
-P.O.S./Micros experience preferred

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Ability to read, write and speak English

• Basic math skills

• Excellent verbal communication skills

• Ability to work a flexible schedule,weekends and holidays

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to walk, stand, talk, hear, listen, grasp, bend, reach and perform repetitive motions

• Ability to push, pull, lift, carry or otherwise move up to 20 lbs.
