CAD Engineer

Production CAD Engineer Assistant assist in planning and creation of Aluminum Extrusion Profile drawings for (curtain walls, store fronts, building cladding systems, canopies, sunshades, railings, etc.) per Customer specifications. Work in collaboration with IEC Team members and customers to coordinate and implement all required design criteria, throughout all stages of the project to deliver the most optimized quotes to our customers

Technical Knowledge:

Performs compilation of customer requirements and specification sheets and enters in EPICS.

Completes drawings to suit engineering changes and initiates engineering changes. Performs dimensions & specification determination necessary on drawings for effective aluminum extrusion and processing.

Keep RFQ Tracker Up to date completing customer RFQs in a timely manner. Preparing and providing accurate quotes.

Full attention to detail taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.

Industry standard drafting practices for architectural and mechanical drawings. Hand sketching abilities.

Modify Solid works models, assemblies, and drawings.

Clean up customer drawings and Create Preliminary and Final Profile Drawings for Approval.

Create Packing Diagrams and get customer approval enter into EPCIS

Proficient with AUTOCAD computer software, including Microsoft software, Excel, Outlook, Inventor is a Plus, and basic computer skills including the use of inter-office Email.

Geometric tolerance, design and Produce 3D Printed Designs

Excellent math skills including the use of formulas, fractions, compound angles, trigonometry and the ability to visualize three dimensional objects and designs

Accurate interpretation / calculation of all attributes for each RFQ including customer part drawings, spec review, and profile prints.

Compile all of the necessary information translating that into useful information into a Customer Specific Quote. Keeping quote response time to 7 working days

Order New and Replacement Dies.

Enter Quality and Engineering Notes into EPCIS. Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. With lots of energy and drive.

Provide assistance to CSR and Outside Sales. Consistency and clarity recognizing there is a problem providing answers that make sense.

Provide full support throughout the production process and resolving any issues in a timely manner.

Attend IEC daily and weekly production meetings, ask questions to get the answers needed to keep moving forward meeting set deliverables.

Understand each customer request capture all of the critical information than design and provide drawings for The Aluminum Extruded Profile with every detail and specification.

Development Opportunity Requirements:

Learn ASTM and Aluminum Association standard for the extrusion of aluminum profiles

Hands on Support plant floor and Die Shop to fully understand the Aluminum extrusion process and how press tooling perform.

Learn how to take First Article Inspection from Initial stage to completion including final submission for Customers approval.
