Job Title: Area Supervisor

Report To (Title): Region Director

Job Summary:

Leads restaurant management team to meet or exceed company’s market revenues and market share targets with an emphasis on overseeing restaurant operations in accordance with established company standards. Initiate appropriate actions to maximize overall operational performance which delivers required financial results. Serve as the primary liaison between restaurant needs and support resources. Promotes strategic growth by selecting and developing a qualified, motivated, diverse, and productive workforce through implementation of sound human resource practices, processes and programs.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

· Thorough individual and collective operational analysis of assigned business units. Clear identification of trends and operational issues that may hinder the ability to perform as plan. Immediately initiates corrective actions to resolve the gap to rectify problems within the highlighted areas. Utilize support resources to maximize performance and deliver targeted results.

· Provide ongoing operational training to restaurant personnel to ensure accurate and flawless execution of all restaurant’s processes, and company’s procedures and practices.

· Develop and implement short and long-term business plans that promote strategic sales and profit growth. Assess local and regional market conditions to ensure competitiveness and build brand equity. Perform restaurant visits on a regular basis.

· Interface with all support resources to achieve company business objectives and initiatives. Serve as the primary liaison between support resources and restaurant needs.

· Drive operations excellence by ensuring restaurants consistently meet or exceed company standards and expectations including, but not limited to product quality, cleanliness, availability of product (s), accuracy, speed, hospitality) and guest satisfaction.

· Attract, select, train, develop and retain qualified and high performing employees. Maintain the required staffing levels to successfully achieve business objectives. Utilize assessment tools to identify bench strengths as well as succession planning in support of company objectives. Sustain a positive working environment and leverage employee satisfaction that promotes productivity. Ensure within the assigned market one-restaurant manager is Certified Training Manager.

· Guide, monitor, and drive productivity standards and career development of direct reports. Provide daily coaching and counseling to restaurant staff to include, but not limited to; performance management, disciplinary management, training, safety, development, conflict resolution, and general and routine employee-related issues.

Financial/Job Scope:

Responsible in delivering annual revenues for the assigned restaurant operations, P&Ls reviews and drives productivity initiatives that impact sales, operations excellence and guest satisfaction.

Significant impact on the brand’s ability to execute all product and service-related matters within the assigned market. Key resource for field operations and corporate staff.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Direct supervision of restaurant management teams and significant point-of-contact within the assigned restaurants and Region Director.

Educational Requirements: Indicate the minimum education level required to perform the job.

  • Four (4) year college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in a multi-unit supervisory role in the restaurant industry and/or equivalent Jacks’ experience. Minimum two (2) years as a Jacks’ restaurant general or training general manager.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Successfully clear the background and reference checking process.
