JOB DESCRIPTION:  HOST

Summary:

Responsible for welcoming and seating each guest promptly and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibility:

• Welcome and seat guests promptly and efficiently
• Accurately handle guest payment (if required)
• Answers telephone by identifying self and restaurant, speaking clearly and sincerely. Take To Go orders, messages and transfer calls to appropriate party.
• Promptly handle guest concerns, notifying Manager in a timely manner, so concern can be addressed prior to guest departure
• Clean and stock host service area as needed
• Complete opening and/or closing duties as assigned
• Assist servers and other team members as requested
• Perform all other duties or special projects as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• Excellent Guest Service skills
• Must be able to follow directions, accurately make change and handle different methods of payment
• Excellent communication skills to verbally communicate effectively with guests, associates and vendors
• Must be able to use a computer for settling guest checks, ringing in to go orders and for timekeeping purposes
• Professional conduct at all times
• Must be able to stand and walk for duration of shift
• Minimum lifting, pushing and pulling of 40 pounds
• Pushing, bending, stooping, walking, upward reaching, manual dexterity, seeing, hearing, writing and typing
