The lab is looking for an Advanced Communications Liaison to help share progress toward INL's vision of changing the world's energy future and securing our nation's critical infrastructure. And we're surrounded by some of the West's most iconic mountains, rivers and national parks (Yellowstone, Grand Teton)! This position works a 9x80 schedule working on-site (potential hybrid opportunities) in our offices in Idaho Falls with every other Friday off! You will report to the Internal Communications Manager and the Communications Director. Responsibilities Include: INL's Human Resources and Diversity directorate is looking for an Advanced Communications Liaison to execute and advise on best practices for sharing the organization's goals and successes, helping its experts create and tailor their messages to effectively reach target audiences. You will be responsible to:
- Advise leadership on strategy and solutions for achieving outreach goals.
- Build networks and relationships within and outside INL and coordinating activities with other lab personnel.
- Work with leadership to define target audiences, select effective communication channels and refine messages.
- Lead creation of fact sheets, marketing material, news releases, website content, newsletters, social media, videos, talking points and FAQs.
- Work collaboratively with graphic artists and other creative staff.
- Coordinate assistance for presentations and event promotion; interface with INL's Communications department; and facilitate complex news media interactions.
- Maintain regular contact with both Communications and Human Resources & Diversity to prioritize projects and enlist specialized staff.
- Requires prior communications experience, and strong preference for previous experience with executive communication.
- Experience in public involvement in technical issues, and writing and producing materials for the general public.
- Ability to understand complex principles and communicate technical topics in simple terms.
- Ability to confidently, respectfully and skillfully negotiate with customers to achieve mutually agreeable communications materials.
- Excellent writing skills and familiarity with AP Style, and excellent oral, digital, social media and visual communications skills.
- PowerPoint skills and experience.
- Ability to manage numerous diverse projects at once, work without appreciable direction, and demonstrate excellent judgment.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, flexibility and ability to prioritize objectives.
- Excellent relationship management and organizational skills to effectively manage interfaces with colleagues at all levels.
- Ability to work collaboratively with graphic artists and other creative staff.
- Salary Grade: PR0400 - 210 ($95,928 - $158,232)
