Summary

We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our Eastern Distribution Center team (in Braselton, GA). TheHuman Resources Business Partneris the consultant to HR (Human Resource) managers located at our Georgia, Virginia, Floridia, and Texas Distribution Centers. The HR Business Partner is responsible for Human Resources oversite of Havertys 7 distribution centers (employee population 450). Responsibilities include employee relations, performance management, HR management leadership, payroll management, recruiting and talent management, and providing HR leadership to stakeholders. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs, management, communicates proactively and seeks to develop solutions.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Maintain office Assigned Distribution Center and serve that facility and Employees
  • Travel, at least, bi-weekly to the other Distribution Centers and Home Delivery locals (various states)
  • Establish and implement all protocols for SuccessFactors
  • Design and implement new protocols for Employee Engagement (Relations), Employee and Manager Training, and Recruiting
  • Manage ADA/ FMLA process for Distribution Centers and Home Delivery
  • Communicate widely and frequently with leadership in Distribution and Home Delivery
  • Implement Corporate Policy on Union Avoidance and Response
  • Ensure each location is compliant with Federal, State and local regulatory agency guidelines and standards
  • Manage actions and proceedings brought against organization arising in connection with employment preparation of responses to EEOC charges, in partnership with VP of Human Resources
  • Provide day-to-day support and advice to the leadership team on employee concerns and questions.
  • Receive and investigates all complaints concerning area of responsibility, determines course of action, coach and advise in necessary action such as corrective or disciplinary action. Understand nuances of policies and is skilled/comfortable at helping others interpret complex problems. (Direct responsibility for Eastern Distribution Center, provide guidance to 3 direct reports regarding their specific locations)
  • Partner and coaching management on matters of goal-setting and strategic implementation in support of achieving corporate objectives and organizational growth.
  • Analyze turnover data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in the design, development and execution of training, programs, processes and initiatives.
  • Ensure performance is aligned with the company strategy as a whole.
  • Consult with VP of Human Resources to develop short- and long-term goals for area(s) of responsibility.
  • Assist in driving the plan to design and develop, metrics and analytics, leadership development, succession planning, talent management and learning and development.
  • Influence at all levels of the organization and develops strong working relationships with managers taking a proactive approach in addressing issues.
  • Leverage existing Distribution Human Resources team to ensure delivery of timely, relevant and efficient Human Resources operations.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS:
  • Guide and develop 3 direct reports to meet expectations of Distribution and Delivery Management team in each center
  • Guide and develop direct reports to provide excellent customer service (serving our employees) experience
  • Set plan and direction for direct reports
  • Coach, develop and ensure team has continuous professional development, including certifications
Job Requirements

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • High level of confidentiality and integrity
  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues
  • Knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations.
  • Strong Human Resources knowledge.
  • Ability to have mangerial courage (to have tough conversatons where needed)
  • Abilty to skillfully address conflict head on
  • Ability to encourage the performance and development of employees.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coach and develop others
EDUCATION:
  • A four-year degree and/or equivalent Human Resources work experience and/or 7-10 years of previous HR Manager Experience in a Distribution or Warehouse setting.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of related Human Resources experience working in a non-exempt environment
  • Minimum of three (3) year of management experience
  • Warehouse, Home Delivery or Distribution experience a plus
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:

PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-CP, and/or SHRM-SCP
