Summary

CHS Inc. is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Peru!

We are offering a $3,000 sign on bonus for this role. The bonus will be paid in 2 installments; $1500 will be paid after 30 days of employment, and an additional $1500 will be paid after 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities
  • Working independently, maintain machinery, equipment, facilities or vehicles as needed and as efficiently and timely as possible.
  • Provide work direction and training to less experienced team members.
  • Repair and perform preventative maintenance to ensure the most efficient operation.
  • Identify and diagnosis problems on equipment and continually monitor equipment while initiating appropriate repair processes.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Inspect parts, replacements, alignment, balancing, installation and refurbishment on a wide variety of equipment.
  • Coordinate with the supervisor on tasks ranging from simple part replacement, advanced troubleshooting and preventative/predictive maintenance interventions ensuring that equipment is properly configured and/or set up.
  • Install, maintain, rebuild, replace parts, equipment and machinery and troubleshoot maintenance problems.
  • Perform maintenance planning and scheduling activities to assign equipment work orders.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or directed.
  • Welding and fabrication of equipment, spouts, etc. 
  • Emergency repairs 
  • Identification of critical inventory 
  • Belt replacements, pulley and roller replacements, and splicing of belts 
  • Work towards and gives input into the construction of maintenance lists, prioritize problems, and suggest effective solutions 
  • Communicate with management and employees at an employee level about daily and recurring problems 
  • Consult with employees and management about tasks that need completing, priorities, and offer guidance in creative solutions 
  • Provide guidance and service lubrication while observing and inspecting equipment 
  • Provide scheduled lubrication service on all motors 
  • Bring vision and ideas into each facility from other sites/companies 
  • Periodic walk through of each facility 
  • Train employees on inspection by sight and feel 
  • Able to travel between each facility on a moment’s notice
  • On-call during spring/harvest on weekends
Minimum Qualifications (required)
  • 3+ years of experience in Production, Operations, and/or Maintenance
Additional Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience troubleshooting isses, identifying and completing appropriate repairs, and implementing measures to prevent reoccurring maintenance problems
  • Working knowledge of the operations, control, and functions of equipment and machinery
  • Ability to be on-call 24/7
  • Ability to work extended hours as needed
