What You’ll Do:
Manage mission critical systems for Capital One such as Customer logins, Second factor Authentication, Enrollment, etc.
Collaborate dynamically with customers, vendors, and other engineering teams to deliver robust cloud-based solutions and solve complex business problems together
Scale our applications and infrastructure to support our growing ecosystem
Deploy reliable, maintainable distributed systems and identify, mitigate reliability risks
Utilize programming languages like Java, Python, Groovy, and Go
Automate the provisioning of environments using frameworks such as AWS CloudFormations, Jenkins, Chef, Ansible, and Puppet
Utilize Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, and a variety of AWS tools and services
Adhere to industry standard security best practices
Develop monitoring, diagnostic, debugging tools and dashboards
Pilot new open-source tools for automation and self-service features/portal
Debug network and performance issues in large scale distributed systems

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
At least 4 years of experience in DevOps Engineering (Internship experience does not apply)
At least 2 years of experience with Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
At least 2 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience with coding and scripting (Python, Java, SQL, JavaScript, GoLang, Groovy, Bash, Perl, or Ruby)
2+ years of experience with Terraform or Ansible
2+ years of experience with container orchestration services including Docker or Kubernetes
2+ years of experience in at least one of the following CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, GitHub, CloudFormation, Chef
1+ years of experience using monitoring tools such as Splunk or NewRelic
2+ years of experience working with Agile Development Practices

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Location is New York City: $156,596 - $184,748 for Senior Software EngineerLocation is San Francisco, California: $165,896 - $195,720 for Senior Software EngineerRemote roles in other areas of New York & California, and across Colorado & Washington: $132,699 - $156,555 for Senior Software EngineerCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
