Job Qualifications for DON RN:License with current registration within NY State, ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary team, Experience in LTC/SNF

 

-Oversee A.D.O.N. in infection preventionist, employee health, staff educator, hiring, and wound care duties.

-Communicate with Pharmacy & nursing staff to ensure timely medication regimen reviews

-Develop Plan of Corrections with Interdisciplinary team in response to annual survey recertification deficiencies (if applicable)

-Participate/ Ensure appropriate implementation of Emergency Planning as mandated by State/Federal Regulation

-Ensure Q.A. Compliance of Nursing Staff

-Communicate with Medical Staff changes in policies/facility protocol

-Determining staffing needs

-Provide disciplinary action as appropriate

-Develop performance criteria, perform annual reviews

-Perform environmental rounds

-Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.

-Direct or supervise licensed & non-licensed personnel direct care staff.

-Consult and coordinate with an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, or evaluate resident care plans.

 

-Make rounds of units to ensure personnel are performing their assignments.
