Integrity Trade Services has partnered up with an international cement manufacturing and packing facility in the Houston area and is hiring a Control Room Operator.

Pay Rate $22.00 hr

The Control Room Operator will be responsible for the operation of the entire process and equipment for finish grinding mill and rotary packer using a sophisticated control system of Houston Facility in Texas which has a total production volume of approximately 300,000 TPY.

Control Room Operator Essential Responsibilities and Task

  • Operate the entire process (including finish grinding mill and rotary packer, etc.) as per standard operating procedures to meet production requirements.
  • Start-up and shutdown of equipment.
  • Monitor and control process variables and equipment to maintain optimal operations.
  • Analyze real-time and historical process data to detect process disturbances and take necessary actions to prevent / minimize loss of production, quality and / or equipment
  • Access and generate process trends and reports
  • Respond to process related alarms
  • Recognize and respond to abnormal operating conditions to return operations to a stable condition.
  • Monitor continuously, all process lines using all available tools to ensure employee safety, environmental compliance, stable equipment operations, and daily production and chemistry targets are met.
  • Direct the activities of the Process Attendant group to troubleshoot and resolve process malfunctions.
  • Work closely with the lab department regarding changes to operating targets to maintain quality.
  • Coordinate daily equipment inspection requirements of the maintenance and electrical departments with process requirements to minimize loss of production.
  • Know plant environmental rules and ensure the plant operates within environmental compliance.
  • Play an active role in improving operations and suggesting modifications to operational routines and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the plant organization in both verbal and written format.
  • Follow and maintain the daily notes.
  • Follow instructions in daily notes from supervisors and management, taking appropriate actions.
  • Document abnormal operating conditions and actions taken.
  • Document equipment and instrumentation malfunctions and actions taken.
  • Document chemistry related issues and actions taken.
  • Document equipment start and stop times.
  • Participate in training to ensure ongoing job qualification, and train others.
  • Assist with process-related problems and failures in the field.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Control Room Operator General Responsibilities
  • Create and foster a positive and cooperative environment in the control room.
  • Keep the control room neat, clean and professional.
  • Act as a communications hub responding to medical or other emergencies.
  • Perform other tasks as may be assigned (e.g. writing / updating SOPs).
Control Room Operator Qualifications
  • 3 years cement plant experience in the Control Room Operator position, preferred.
  • Able to operate all plant equipment from central control using a sophisticated process control system.
  • Willingness to take personal responsibility for plant operation and own performance.
  • A personal work style that is flexible, energetic, and self-starting.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work productively in a stressful environment remaining focused and effective.
  • Good ability to learn information and skills.
  • Able to effectively use a personal computer with MS Windows software.
  • Basic knowledge of mathematics and science, esp. chemistry and physics.
  • Able to adhere to standard operating procedures while looking for opportunities to recommend improvements.
  • Able to extract useful information from tables, charts, spreadsheets, and graphs.
  • Good interpersonal skills to interact effectively with coworkers.
  • Good communication skills - read and understand manuals/data sheets, interpret oral and written instructions, and give clear instructions to others.
  • Willing and capable of working extended hours and weekends if needed
  • High School Diploma or relevant experience

  • Role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions
