CPG Logistics Planner

Consumer Package Goods (CPG) Logistics Planner is to oversee / coordinate the activities of White Castle’s 3rd party logistics (3PL) service providers, along with the distribution of finished goods for the White Castle Food Products Division (WCFP). This position will ensure that the needs of the Customer are met on a daily basis and in a timely fashion, in the most cost-efficient manner possible.

 Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years’ experience or at least 5 years’ field experience;
• Experience in CPG warehousing and delivery operations;
• Previous experience in Logistical analysis is preferred, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites;
• Efficiently manage multiple, time-sensitive tasks.

 Essential Functions

• Manage inventory by reviewing reports, track usage and inventory levels to identify items at risk for out-of-stock;
• Communication to appropriate parties, as needed, to resolve problems and assure on time deliveries;
• Develop and maintain standards. Establish KPI’s for comparison purposes;
• Contract Maintenance for 3rd party service providers – warehousing and transportation; communicate with Retail and service provider to renew / update contracts before expiration, calculate annual price increases using CPI or other approved measures;
• Work with Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, and Warehouse Operations to address Product and Customer issues. Determine resolution and identify process changes (where applicable) to prevent / minimize reoccurrence;
• Research historical data and generate spreadsheets to analyze pricing, track item usage, project future usage / requirements, estimate cost savings, etc. Perform RFP’s to identify new service providers, and recommend changes to improve service and/or lower costs;
• Assist and back up other team members of Supply Chain Department as required and 
• requested.
