Schedule

We are actively hiring for a Electrical & Instrumentation Technician. Apply to this opening if you are interested in this position:

  • Hours are 7:00pm - 7:00am and 7:00am - 7:00pm on a rotating 12 hour schedule

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma. Associate degree in electronics is preferred with 2-4 years of industry experience in the electronics field
  • Requires electrical and electronics knowledge (PLCs, drives, panel views, wiring, schematics, AC/DC motors, relays, system designs, etc.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot multiple electrical concepts
  • Capability of learning and utilizing the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)

Duties

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and instrument problems encountered prior to and during the assigned work shift
  • Assist with the design, installation and modifications to new and existing electrical and electronic equipment. Assist in the writing of programs for PLC and AC & DC drives
  • Responsible for completing work orders as scheduled by using the procedures, tools and parts specified on the work order. Also responsible for accurately documenting the completion of work orders and submitting change requests for updating and improving procedures and PM's. Accountable for all labor, parts and miscellaneous supplies used on the work orders
  • Responsible for monitoring all plant equipment, noting each machine's performance and reporting any discrepancies or abnormalities to the E&I Coordinator and Team Manager
  • Responsible for correcting any unsafe conditions on the machines and immediately notifying the Team Manager and E&I Coordinator. Responsible for knowing and adhering to safety rules and standard operating procedures
  • Responsible for identifying preventive maintenance improvements for plant equipment and for developing preventive maintenance for new equipment and equipment expansions
  • Responsible for thoroughly understanding product quality expectations and contributors to product quality
  • Provide positive contributions and ideas at regularly scheduled maintenance work order meetings
  • Provide assistance to the Mechanical Maintenance Technicians during situations in which such actions will increase the overall effectiveness of the work being performed
  • Support and participate in the safety and quality improvement processes
  • Utilize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document completed work, view work order status and priority, obtain stores inventory information, obtain vendor contact information, and to view machine maintenance history
  • Provide support and assistance to the maintenance and production groups
  • Perform other duties as identified by the Team Manager or the Production Manager. Assist the shift teams as required by the Team Manager

Must be able to perform the basic life functions of standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, fingering, talking and hearing. Frequently exerts medium force (10 to 25 pounds) in lifting, carrying and pulling. Occasionally exerts very heavy force (50 to100 pounds) in pushing. Must exhibit clarity of vision of both near and far acuity in addition acceptable field of vision. Position is exposed to wet and humid conditions, noise, fumes, moving mechanical parts, electrical shock, and toxic and caustic chemicals.
