This position is a hybrid role which requires the employee to work in the office at least one day a week.

 

Job Summary   

The Cloud Engineer will collaborate with technology platform and business function owners to design, validate, and lead technology architecture implementation including: enterprise architecture, solution architecture, data architecture and security.

 

This position will drive technical solutioning and evaluate, test, and recommend vendor technology components before they are added to the enterprise technology component framework.  The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for technology implementation and rollout on major product or application launches. 

 

The ideal candidate will have

  • Java/J2EE, .NET, Pyspark, Python
  • noSQL, SQL server , MySql, Cosmos, MongoDB
  • Cloud Platforms / Components: Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure or equivalent cloud, Queue, Eventhubs
  • Extensive background designing high-scalable applications in the cloud
  • Experience prototying new concepts / evaluating new technology and mentoring junior team members

 

Essential Functions  

  1. Design and document multi-layered solution architecture and integration strategies based on customer needs, incorporating business, application, data and infrastructure designs.
  2. Ensure technical solutions align with business goals and objectives that support long-term strategies.
  3. Act as a Technical Lead, providing insight and direction to the development team, conducting code reviews throughout delivery.
  4. Identify, evaluate, and select vendors to assist with application integration and development.
  5. Translate use cases and functional requirements into technical specifications and diagrams.
  6. Own successful execution and delivery of projects that meet scope, timing and cost goals.
  7. Document and maintain architecture specifications and technology component relationships.
  8. Participate in SDLC gating and ensure quality assurance processes are followed.
  9. Contribute to overall Technology Strategy and Architecture Roadmap development.
  10. Maintain knowledge of Information Technology Policy Manual (ITPM) policies, programs, and issues.
  11. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the technology function.
  12. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of industry standards, methodologies, processes, and best practices.

Experience

  • Multi-disciplined IT experience (10+ years).
  • IT architecture experience (6+ years).
  • Software development methodologies and implementation (4+ years).
  • Defining and implementing technology architectures from inception through to implementation within budgetary agreements.
  • Data and workflow process modeling experience.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
