Sales Associate

Dog Gone Holistic is seeking a part time retail sales associate.

 
A typical day will be spent waiting on customers, talking about our products, answering questions, and running a register. You will also be assisting with stocking, checking in deliveries, and pricing products. Helping keep the store clean and neat is also part of the job. You can't be shy about picking up occasional doggie messes! You will be on your feet the entire shift. We typically work full days and are open every day except a few federal holidays. 

You will be working at our Riverview store (Big Bend & 301). You may be required to fill in at our Lithia store (in FishHawk) periodically. You will likely be working one weekend day and two weekdays to start with. Target number of hours is 25 but will vary. If you are flexible with work hours, opportunities for more hours will be available. 

Pay will depend on your level of retail store, customer service, and pet experience. 

You MUST: 

• have an outgoing personality and able to walk up to a customer and start talking.
• be able to recognize when something needs to be done and jump in on your own and get it done.
• be on time for your shifts, reliable and dependable.
• be willing to learn! There’s a lot to learn and a lot to remember.
• have and maintain a clean, neat professional appearance.

We highly prefer a person that: 

• is flexible with the work schedule and willing to take on additional hours, possibly at short notice.
• can work most hours and days.
• is a current dog and/or cat owner.
• has prior customer service experience.
• has prior pet related work experience - in a pet store, vet tech, dog sitter, etc.

• Reliable transportation to and from work

• Able to stand for duration of shift
• Able to comfortably lift 40 lbs
• Willing to wear face mask

Preferred qualifications:

• 18 years or older
• Math skills: counting cash drawer
• At least high school diploma or equivalent or higher
• Retail skills: addressing customer complaints
• Retail skills: handling returns
• Retail skills: customer service
• Retail skills: point of sale (POS) operation
• Comfortable handling customer complaints
• Access to personal devices for work: smartphone - iOS
• Access to personal devices for work: smartphone - Android
• Dress code requirements: No visible facial piercings
• Dress code requirements: Fingernails are trimmed and maintained
