Job Description
Prince William Academy, a secular private school in Lake Ridge, VA, is seeking elementary teachers for grades K - 5.
Qualifications: BA in Elementary Education or related field, and teaching experience in an elementary classroom required.
The position is available immediately.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
1) Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
2) Maintain and enforce code of conduct among students.
3) Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.
4) Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
5) Plan and conduct activities that provide students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
6) Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods.
7) Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.
8) Provide weekly lesson outlines to school administration.
9) Assign and grade class work and homework.
10) Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments in order to evaluate students' progress.
11) Confer with parents or guardians, teachers, and administrators regarding student progress.
12) Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress.
13) Maintain accurate and complete student records and progress reports.
14) Prepare students for later grades by challenging them, and encouraging them to explore learning opportunities
15) Attend staff meetings and training sessions, sometimes outside of regular work hours.
16) Confer with staff colleagues regarding curriculum and implementation of school vision.
17) Maintain weekly correspondence with classroom parents
18) Maintain an organized, clean classroom
Salary is $38,000 - $ 41,000 annually. We also offer full tuition for one child (preschool and above), and additional discounts for more than one child.
