Prized Health is an outpatient primary care office located on the Reston Hospital Center campus. Prized Health presents an exciting opportunity for a part-time Medical Assistant to join our patient-centric team. The position is a wonderful opportunity for professional and personal development in a private practice setting.
Job Summary
The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting the providers with clinical and administrative duties.

The Medical Assistant will be instrumental in enhancing the patient experience.
Responsibilities
Training will be provided for less experienced applicants but passionate about working in the medical field.
Room patients which includes obtaining vital signs, a brief patient's history and recording the information in the EMR (AthenaHealth) under the supervision of the providers.
Assist with patient check in and check out during visits as needed. Collect copays and outstanding balances during check in.
Perform minor office procedures and diagnostic tests, such as strep and flu tests, vision and hearing screens, glucose testing, urinalyses and EKGs.
Inform patients of their test results under the guidance of the providers.
Assist with scheduling appointments and maintaining an efficient workflow.
Answer phones and send messages to staff and providers as needed.
Assist with keeping track of inventory.
Maintain patient confidentiality and reinforce HIPAA compliance.
Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe office environment.
Support the staff in answering patient’s billing questions, providing referrals, and scanning patient documents in the chart.
Administer vaccinations to patients and keep informed of immunization schedules.
Learning opportunities with the providers during staff meetings.
Qualifications and Skills
High school graduate or equivalent.
At least 1 year experience in a healthcare setting (preferred but not required). Certification is not required.
Must have strong organizational & customer service skills, and great attention to detail.
Candidates with less experience will be trained and are welcome to apply.
Salary and Benefits
Pay is commensurate with experience, education and certification (Starting $16-$18/hr)

Schedule
Full-time and Part-time, 30-40 hours per week.
