Description:

seeking a Research Associate who performs quantitative and qualitative research involving the organization, funding, operation, services, policies, statutes, staffing and the consumers of State Mental Health Agencies (SMHAs); assessments and analyses of state behavioral health systems, original data collection, secondary data analysis; and drafting written reports or developing research products as needed.

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Participates as a team member in designing and carrying out research and/or development projects.

• Reviews reports for data accuracy and integrity by using logical data edits, descriptive analysis, and/or other methods that may be suggested by the research team members

• Synthesizes literature related to the organization, financing, and delivery of mental health services for use in research and/or development projects, or for dissemination.

• Serves as a liaison with individual pilot, research, or development sites/states in multi-site projects to provide technical assistance or training to ensure sites' ability to adhere to project protocols.

• Develops procedures, forms, and schedules for data collection; and collects data through interviews or other data sources. Monitors survey completion and prompts non-responders for optimal response rate. Reviews and corrects data errors ensuring output quality.

• Conducts quantitative analyses for project reports and to answer specific research questions.

• Writes reports of literature reviews or research results; and/or develops written products. Excellent technical writing skills required.

• Assists in organizing meetings of mental health stakeholders to disseminate information, discuss issues and develop consensus, or to plan new initiatives; develops reports of meeting conclusions and recommendations.

• Prepares, creates, and conducts presentations based on research activities for meetings and conferences.

• Assists in the production of Section 508-compliant documents/reports

• Assists in writing and preparing grant proposals with team members.
