Purpose of the Job:

Primary technical interface for all customers within assigned product lines or customer base. Understand the customer application, propose the best suited concept of tooling and inserts, conduct and document testing activities within assigned accounts including regular approved travel to support sales managers. Document cost and production time savings and present savings with the Sales Managers to the customers.

Principle Accountabilities (Major duties):

  • Develop and maintain close contact with customers. This involvement whenever possible will be direct one-on-one with phone, fax or email contact as needed.
  • Provide technical and business (quotations, order, complaints/returns) assistance for customers including specification and technical reviews.
  • Administration of product prototypes.
  • Work closely with Sales Manager to develop annual sales plan by customer and by product type.
  • Due to close customer contact and the confidential nature of some of the information, close and guarded discussions of gathered intelligence must be adhered to with this position.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Regular travel (50 - 75%) as needed to maintain contact with customers and increase sales.
  • Develop innovative new products and ideas.
  • Engineering degree in ceramics, CBN or materials needed with automotive supplier experience and/or training preferred.
  • Coordinate activity with Sales Manager.
  • Record all testing activity.
  • Report all testing activity to customer with Sales Management.
  • Report to Sales Director on a monthly basis all activity.
  • Develop and maintain regular contact to the global application center in Germany for continuous support and regular updates.
  • Support Product Management and Sales to launch new products.
  • Report upcoming market trends to Sales and PM.

Requirements:

  • Regular travel (50-75%) as needed to maintain contact with customers and increase sales.
  • Develop innovative new products and ideas.
  • Engineering degree in ceramics or materials needed with automotive supplier experience and/or training preferred.

Prerequisite Knowledge:

  • CNC Programming
  • Process, procedures, and planning
  • 2 Yrs experience with cutting tools
  • 2 yrs. Associate’s Degree preferred or Technical College Equivalent
