Blue Grass Manufacturing is a subsidiary of Component Solutions Group and is a leading provider of high-quality, engineered products manufactured in the USA. As we expand our business, we are seeking an experienced, hands-on, dynamic, self-starting individual for a CNC Maintenance Technician at our operation in Lexington, KY.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Develops and executes preventative and predictive maintenance systems to minimize equipment downtime by developing a PM checklist, a downtime tracking system for planned and unplanned maintenance, and monitoring overall department equipment uptime.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Ability to fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Provides utilities by directing the installation of, modifications to, and maintenance activities on equipment.
- Resolves maintenance problems by conferring with operators, management, engineering, quality control personnel, outside contractors, and service personnel.
- Protects employees and visitors by maintaining a safe and clean building. Recognizes and rectifies potential unsafe conditions.
- Proficient at advanced troubleshooting and repair of CNC Equipment with an emphasis on Haas/Okuma products.
- Analyzes circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings
- Follow all company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions to the Manufacturing Manager, EHS Manager, and/ or Director of Manufacturing.
- Removal of damaged components, identification of replacement parts, and fitting of new parts
- Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S.
Additional responsibilities to implement preventative maintenance on company equipment include:
- Lubrication of moving parts and oil changes
- Adjusting belts, chains, drives, stops, and strokes
- Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
- Machine tool function, controls, and troubleshooting with I/O
- Pneumatics and hydraulics
- Coolant pump and filtration system
- Mechanical chiller systems
- Grease and oil lubrication systems
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
- Must be a high school graduate, or have a General Education Degree (GED), an Associate College degree in engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a maintenance tech in a manufacturing environment and repair skills focused on the mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical aspects of Haas CNC machines.
- PLC programming (creating, editing, troubleshooting) preferred
- Experience with moving existing or installing new equipment
- Candidate must be self-motivated and able to perform successfully with little supervision
- Have or obtain certification for lift truck, scissors lift, and other service and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Must be able to work effectively individually and in a team environment.
- Must be able to pay close attention to details.
- High understanding of a variety of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components and controls
- Must be able to use App based maintenance system in provided tablets
- Mechanical Aptitude testing will be required
