The Role: Lifestyle-Friendly Pet Care

This is a part-time position designed for those looking to supplement their income while staying active and outdoors. This role pairs perfectly with other responsibilities such as:

• College coursework
• School-age children’s schedules
• Careers or other part time work that do not have 9am-5pm hours

What You’ll Do:

• One-on-One Walks: Provide focused, midday visits for dogs between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm on weekdays. We only walk one household at a time.
• Pet Sitting: Visit dogs, cats, and other small animals in their homes (typically before 9 am or after 5 pm and on weekends) when their families are away.
• Safety First: Safely manage dogs on-leash using positive reinforcement techniques.
• Customer Connection: Write detailed, professional journals after each visit to share the joy of the day with pet parents.

Requirements:

• Consistency: A block of at least 2-3 hours of availability Monday-Friday (for dog walkers). Pet Sitters have more flexibility.
• Proximity: Best if you live within or near the Beltway (Arlington, Alexandria, or Falls Church) as we aim to keep your route within a 5-mile radius of your home.
• Strategy: A solid transportation strategy (car preferred, but bikes/scooters work in urban areas).
• Communication: Ability to check email daily and write professional visit summaries

Required qualifications:

• 18 years or older
• Legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred qualifications:

• Own a personal vehicle
