Job Description
Sullivan Street Bakery is seeking a Logistics Overnight Manager to be the eyes of the bakery in the owl hours of the night. The position mainly consists of managing all the different departments and ensuring all production is baked off properly, quality control, constant communication with backers, packers, and drivers to ensure a smooth distributed to all our customers. In other words, to run a smooth supply chain of freshly baked artisanal bread.
Responsibilities:
· Manage day-to-day supply and logistics activities from inventory as well as warehouse, transportation, and distribution
· Act as a liaison among all departments to ensure we run a cost-effective and successful supply chain
· Develop new strategies to streamline processes
· Evaluate the quality and quantity of the bread
· Partner and communicate with bakers, packers and drivers
· Coordinates business solutions across departments
· Responsible for minimizing any delay in production
· Waste management
· Constant communication and integration with wholesale and baking departments
Qualifications:
· Associate degree in supply chain management, operations, logistics or business administration is desirable
· Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
· 3+ years of experience working in logistics, warehouse, or transportation operations
· Strategic thinking and excellent interpersonal communication skills are crucial for this role
· Firm grasp of supply chain, inventory, and distribution
· Exceptional planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
· Strong team player
· Ability to manage, coach, and provide training for direct reports
· Experience in the culinary industry is consider a strong asset
· Spanish or French speaking is a plus
· Ability to lift 50+ lbs
· Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods as required to perform essential job functions
· Computer skills, Excel, Word, etc.
