Physician Assistant Opportunity Sunny Tampa, FL

The James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, Tampa, FL is seeking a full-time, 40 hours per week Physician Assistant (Cardiothoracic) to join our team providing Cardiac Care to veteran patients. As an agent of the supervising physicians, the Physician Assistant is authorized to write medical orders on inpatients and/or outpatients assigned to the facility for care. Typical duties include but are not limited to: performing initial history and physical examinations on inpatient and outpatients, assist in operating room, be proficient in harvesting saphenous vein endoscopically and performing minor procedures, prescribe medications withing defined scope of practice, order diagnostic studies (e.g. x-rays, lab tests, ECG), regular rounds to observe and record each patient's medical progress notes, updating and summarizing medical records, changing orders when appropriate, and notify the responsible physician of significant changes in the patient's condition. Provide education and counseling of patients and families in preventive care, medical conditions, and use of prescribed treatments and drugs.

Must be a U.S. Citizen. If no qualified U.S. Citizen is found, will consider non-citizen candidates

Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State.

Board Certified/Board Eligible (Preferred)

Must be highly motivated, team-oriented, and committed to the care and good health for our Veterans

Predictable work schedules and a focus on quality rather than volume.

Candidates who have operating room experience and assistance in Endovein Harvest highly preferred
