This position is located in the Medicine Service Line, Neurology Service, Samuel S. Stratton VA Medical Center, Albany, New York and supports the Network 2 Mission to care for our Veterans with compassion and excellence. The successful candidate for this important leadership position is responsible for overseeing a group of Neurology physicians who provide a broad range of interventions to Veterans with complex disease and comorbidities, within a patient centric model.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

The Neurologist position at the SVAMC will encompass the breadth of clinical care, including inpatient consultation, outpatient clinic and and clinical procedures (EEG, EMG, Botox).
The SVAMC cares for Veterans within the Upstate New York region from the Catskill region in the south, to the New York/Canada border in the North, and between Syracuse and Western Massachusetts from East/West.
In addition to the clinical duties, the SVAMC Neurology Section of the Medicine Service Line is closely integrated with the division of Neurology at the Albany Medical College (AMC). The faculty at SVAMC also have academic appointments at AMC. The applicant, if deciding to join the SVAMC, would apply for the faculty position once on board at SVAMC. The Faculty of SVAMC are integrally involved in all teaching and research activities. Teaching responsibilities include resident mentorship during their rotation at the SVAMC and outpatient Neurology clinic preceptor.
