Position Overview:
The Expo/Floater is a key link between the kitchen and dining room, ensuring that food is delivered accurately, promptly, and with excellent presentation. This role combines the responsibilities of food runner, busser, and expo. In addition to supporting the service team on the floor, the Expo/Floater oversees food coming from the kitchen, organizes ticket flow, and directs floaters to run items to the correct tables in a timely and efficient manner.Responsibilities:
Act as the communication bridge between kitchen and front-of-house staff.
Manage and organize tickets at the expo line, ensuring food is sent out in the correct order and on time.
Confirm that all dishes meet presentation and quality standards before leaving the kitchen.
Direct floaters and runners to deliver food promptly and accurately to tables.
Support the team by running food when needed, clearing tables, and resetting for the next guests.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo line, service stations, and dining area.
Assist with stocking, polishing, and preparing service tools as needed.
Work proactively with servers to ensure guests’ needs are met quickly and efficiently.
Uphold health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times.
Qualifications:
Prior restaurant experience strongly preferred, ideally in a high-volume setting.
Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
Clear and confident communicator who can direct a team under pressure.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality and service.
Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
Physical ability to stand, walk, carry trays, and lift up to 30 lbs during service.

Minimum 1 year of experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting (high-volume experience preferred).
Ability to read and prioritize tickets quickly and accurately.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask under pressure.
Clear and confident communication skills for directing team members.
Positive, team-oriented attitude with a focus on guest service.
Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
