POSITION OVERVIEW
The Information Assurance (IA) Analyst ensures the rigorous application of IA policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of all information technology (IT) and IA services. The IA Analyst is responsible for analyzing the network vulnerabilities to identify risks and areas of potential compromise.
*This position is contingent upon successful contract award. *
RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
  • Plan, integrate and schedule the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Supervise the assessment and implementation of identified computer network environment fixes such as system patches and fixes associated with specific technical vulnerabilities as part of the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management program.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of IA security procedures and safeguards.
  • Evaluate security violations to determine necessary initial and long-term corrective action.
  • Assesses impact, determine probable damage and suggest methods of damage control.
  • Conduct computer forensics, and follow-on analysis to build historical and predictive capabilities for IA incidents.
  • Plan and oversee security system installs updates that cause minimal disruption to systems.
  • Provide security briefings and training.
  • May maintain system and network diagrams.
  • May develop and deliver reports and presentations.
  • Design, develop, implement security standards, plans and procedures for new and existing computer assets.
  • Reviews and validates security risks and framework gaps in security programs.
  • Ensures all computer and information systems are functional and secure.
  • Monitors security scans, audits and system logs for system and network anomalies.
  • Identifies, reports and resolves detected security violations.
  • Develops and maintains required documentation and security certificates.
  • Audits operations to ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Evaluates and recommends the installation, modification and replacement of hardware or software components.
  • Monitor multi-level security networks to identify potential security violations, incidents, attacks, and malicious behavior in accordance with the provisions of DoD Directive 8570.01-M.
  • Take appropriate action to report incidents to higher authority as required by regulation, policy, or law.
  • Implement required IA security measures to assist in the mitigation of incident impact.
  • Conduct analyses and document intrusion detection incidents and data.
  • Perform routine IA administrative tasks IAW applicable instructions and pre-established guidelines.
  • Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance, test and monitor network activities.
  • Assist with the installing, day to day technical supporting, testing, and troubleshooting of IA systems in accordance with established policy, procedures, test plans and guidance.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in related IT Field - May have 2 years of experience and additional training or certification in lieu of bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience.
  • MS Certified: Information Protection Administrator Associate and/or a Associate of (ISC), and/or Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP)
  • IAT-II in one of the following (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security +, CND, or SSCP).
  • ITIL Foundations within 6 months.
  • Thorough understanding of cybersecurity principles.
  • Able to work Overtime as required.
  • Must be available to travel as required.
  • Secret Security Clearance
