Description

Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Strategic Project Manager (SPM) who will be responsible for overseeing the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of projects in alignment with our company's strategy, commitments, and goals. As the SPM, you will play a vital role in acquiring resources, coordinating team efforts, and collaborating with third-party contractors to ensure successful project delivery. This position encompasses a range of projects, including some of the highest profile endeavors within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide project management for single or multi-site communications projects, including subcontractor management, timeline development and communication, budget management, scope management, stakeholder management, and ensuring customer and company success.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, working closely with internal and external teams to deliver successful projects.
  • Travel to customer and/or partner locations as required, ensuring the completion of customer-mandated training.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management concepts, construction project management, and familiarity with the National Fire Code.
  • Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), effective persuasion and negotiation abilities, troubleshooting and problem-solving aptitude, quick adaptation to new technologies and hardware, efficient collaboration with customers and suppliers, delegation skills, and strong follow-up.
  • Meticulous approach to producing high-quality results, with a results-oriented mindset and a focus on meeting challenging customer commitments.
  • Ability to actively participate in meetings with co-workers, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders, addressing issues openly and promptly while tactfully communicating difficult and sensitive information.

Project Management:

  • Lead the planning and implementation of projects.
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Manage project scope and proactively create change orders when necessary.
  • Identify project risks and opportunities, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans.
  • Review project deliverables with the project team prior to client submission.
  • Assemble and coordinate project staff.
  • Manage project budget.
  • Set and manage client expectations and day-to-day interaction.
  • Take ownership of customer satisfaction and cultivate relationships for future projects.
  • Develop and execute project work plans, adjusting as needed to accommodate changing needs and requirements.
  • Develop and manage project schedules.
  • Track project deliverables.
  • Provide direction and support to the project team.
  • Apply company methodology effectively.
  • Continuously monitor and report on project progress.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Resolve or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
  • Present reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project objectives.
  • Mentor and supervise project team members, acting as a senior project management and relationship expert.

Quality:

  • Ensure quality through training and the use of efficient and correctly executed processes, tasks, and procedures.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
  • Enforce and meet company standards of quality, utilizing company methodologies.

Financial:

  • Manage financial data, reports, and budgets.
  • Analyze project profitability, revenue, profit margins, billing rates, and asset utilization.
  • Accurately forecast revenue, profits, and losses when required.
  • Strive for revenue improvement, profitability enhancement, optimized asset utilization, and cost savings.
  • Meet safety, company, regional, department, and project financial goals while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Sales:

  • Capitalize on opportunities to increase sales, establish strategic partnerships, meet customer needs, and generate add-on sales for projects.
