Preschool Teacher

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support for up to five children (18-36 months) in a play-based environment, in a loving, responsive manner circulating between individual children and facilitating group activities as needed
• Maintain a fun and safe learning environment
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents
• Communicate with parents on students' growth and progress
• Maintain the health and safety of all students
• Facilitate morning snack, lunch, and/or afternoon snack supporting children to set up and clean up the space
• Facilitate nap time, including wind down routine, supervision, logging infant (under 2 years) sleep checks every fifteen minutes
• Change diapers every 2-3 hours and support toilet training, as needed
• Document observations of individual students and the group as a whole
• Participate in staff meetings up to two hours a month, time TBD between teachers
• Other duties as needed, including but not limited to cleaning the facility, cooking meals, planning activities, providing substitute coverage when possible and as needed, etc.
• Other duties to be discussed and agreed upon ahead of time between Director and Teacher

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields
• Minimum 8 units in Early Childhood Education
• Passionate about working with children and supporting children's relationship with nature
• Ability to build rapport with children
• Positive and patient demeanor
