CNC Lathe Setup Machinist

The primary responsibilities of this position is to operate and setup CNC lathes with Fanuc controls. RJ Machine is looking for someone that has operating experience and is looking to advance their career and start setting up CNC Lathes. RJ Machine typically does low quantity work in difficult materials with tight tolerances. The setups on lathes can range from easy 4 tool jobs to complex live-tooling and sub spindle work.

The hours for this position are 6:30 am to 3:00 pm Mon. thru Fri.

Essential Responsibilities:
· Operate CNC lathes with fanuc controls.
· Produce and maintain all part characteristics according to specifications with tolerances as low as .001".
· Modify G-code in order to produce parts that meet print tolerance.
· Visually inspect tools for excessive wear.
· Select and install tooling as required by the documentation.
· Inspect parts for acceptance using proper inspection procedures and maintain S.P.C. charts.
· Maintain and replace fluids daily in the machines.
· Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
· Assist shop production by helping co-workers.
· Maintain work area housekeeping and assist in department/team housekeeping efforts.

The successful candidate will have:
· Fully understand G-code and Fanuc g-code cycles.
· The ability to lift 30lbs and remain standing for a full shift.
· Experience with common inspection equipment used in the industry.
.Experience with common lathe tools and setting them in CNC Lathes.
· Reliable mode of transportation.
· Knowledge to do basic tool grinding in order to modify lathe inserts.
