Essential Job Functions:

IFAS, LLC is seeking a candidate that possesses exceptional accounting, financial planning, and leadership skills and is a direct report to the Chief Financial Officer. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Government Contract Accounting. The candidate will possess 5-10 years of accounting experience demonstrating a strong understanding of all aspects of the accounting life cycle and financial management reporting. The candidate will also have experience with Deltek Cost Point accounting system. This candidate must demonstrate the appropriate hands-on and managerial skills for accrual-based accounting and ensuring GAAP compliance.

Job Details –
The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial and fiscal operations. This position will have direct oversight of the accounting team. The Controller will ensure that the highest performance levels in the industry are achieved as well as implement business best practices in each of those areas with a continued focus on innovation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Controller will be hands on leader managing all aspects of accounting operations including Labor, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Billing, Accounts Receivable, Revenue Recognition, General Ledger, Treasury and Compliance.
  • Reports directly to the CFO.
  • Mentor staff of one responsible for Payroll and AP.
  • Analytical; High attention to detail, organized with exceptional time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels in the organization.
  • Manage the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, inter-company, cost allocations, and other balance sheet and P&L accounts.
  • Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements.
  • Manage local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Manage monthly financial reporting package for banking partners.
  • Manage banking, tax, and audit relationships.
  • Manage Indirect rates cost structure and prepare incurred cost submissions.
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Ensures quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Develops, documents, and maintains accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Partner with CFO on process improvements, including system assessment and implementation efforts.

Exercises sound judgement and operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of financial and management experience as a Sr. Accountant or Controller working in a Federal Government Contracting environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related discipline.
  • Knowledgeable in FAR, CAS and GAAP.
  • Experience with/or knowledge of Incurred Cost Submissions preferred.
  • Experience with Deltek Cost Point.
  • Demonstrated strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be responsive and customer service oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and also collaboratively with others to achieve goals.
  • High-energy, initiative-taker and meticulous.

There will be promotion potential to Controller position after 90 days.

Must be local to the Washington, DC Metro area (DC, MD, VA). Note-This is a hybrid position that will report to the Washington, DC office 2 – 3 days/week.

Work Schedule:
The employee will work an 8-hour shift between the hours of 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. This is a hybrid position with 2 days teleworking and 3 days on-site. (update based on department requirements)
