Purpose: The Member Experience Advisor III is responsible for originating consumer loan applications, guiding members through the loan process, and ensuring compliance with lending policies and regulations.



Essential Job Functions
  1. Lending
    1. Review and assess member loan applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided.
    2. Analyze applicants' financial status, credit history, and other relevant information to determine loan eligibility.
    3. Utilize the High Yield Lending Solutions (HYLS) training received to provide creative solutions to meet the member's needs and protects the credit unions interest with proper underwriting.
    4. Evaluate creditworthiness and make informed decisions and recommendations to centralized underwriting regarding loan approvals or denials.
    5. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal lending policies.
    6. Prepare and maintain accurate loan documentation, including lien perfections
    7. Communicate lending decisions to clients and address any questions or concerns they may have.
    8. Provide guidance on loan options, terms, and conditions, and recommend suitable financial products.
    9. Communicate with members in an efficient and professional manner during the loan process.
    10. Build and maintain positive relationships with members to enhance their overall experience.
    11. Cross-Sell the appropriate products and services based on member need
    12. Adhere to all lending guidelines, policies, and procedures
  1. Provide support to members and the branch as needed
    1. Open new account as needed.
    2. Print debit cards for members
    3. Initiate debit card and kiosk disputes
    4. Conduct coin transactions
    5. Manage and balance the vault and coin machine daily
    6. Print cashier's checks
    7. Troubleshoot issues with the kiosk
    8. Conduct transactions for members as needed
    9. Order checks and other financial products for members
    10. Direct members to the appropriate team member as needed
    11. Position yourself to be viewed as an expert in knowledge of all Credit Union products necessary to discuss features and benefits and process requests
  1. Contribute positively towards a cooperative work environment for members and co-workers.
    1. Assist in evaluating quality and effectiveness of service delivery and make recommendations to management based on member feedback about the competitiveness of our products and services.
    2. Strong knowledge of technology channels especially within line with the credit unions eService channels.
    3. Keep supervisors informed of area activities and significant problems.
    4. Attend and participate in meetings as required.
    5. Keep work area clean, secure, and well maintained.
    6. Assume responsibility in fostering a team centric service environment.
    7. Perform all other duties as assigned.
    8. Work closely with team members to ensure the community space is always represented with credit union staff to aid in direction of new and potential members.
Performance Measurements
  1. Functions are efficiently, effectively, and accurately performed in accordance with established policies, standards, and security procedures
  2. Membership growth is well represented as utilization of the community space.
  3. Good business relations exist with members. Member problems and complaints are promptly and professionally addressed and resolved
  4. Accurate and complete information about credit union products and services is provided to members
  5. Good working relationships and coordination exist with personnel and with management. Appropriate assistance is provided to staff as needed. Supervisor is informed of activities
  6. Required balancing and reports are accurate, complete, and timely
  7. The credit union's professional reputation is conveyed and maintained
Qualifications
  1. Education/certification
    1. A minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent. Associates or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or related field is a plus.
  2. Required Knowledge
    1. General knowledge of credit union policies and procedures
    2. Basic understanding of loans, payment process, and credit union products.
  3. Experience Required
    1. At least three years of experience in member service at a full-service financial institution.
    2. Proven experience in consumer lending or a related financial role.
    3. Strong understanding of lending practices, credit analysis, and regulatory requirements.
    4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    5. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
    6. Proficient in using loan origination software and Microsoft Office applications.

    1. Sedentary work, sitting most of the time. Occasionally exert up to 50 lbs. of force.

Mental Requirements of this Position
  1. Reasoning Ability
    1. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables.
  2. Mathematics Ability
    1. Ability to perform very basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of two-digit numbers.
    2. The four basic arithmetic operations with money and operations with units such as inch, foot, yard, ounce, and pound (including their metric counterpart)
