About this job

Summary:

The Certified Nurse Midwife will provide comprehensive womens health services to include prenatal care, intrapartum management, deliveries, postpartum care, well-women visits and gynecological care. Experience is preferred but we will consider new graduates.

Experience/Education Requirements:

  • Completion of a program leading to licensure as a registered nurse.
  • Completion of a nurse-midwifery education program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME) Division of Accreditation (DOA)
  • Ability to work in an automated environment required.

License or Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in a health care related field (Master's preferred)
  • Successful completion of a Nurse Midwifery program provided by the American College of Nurse Midwives
  • Evidence of annual completion of health-related courses and/or seminars with a certificate and/or CEU
  • Certified Illinois Nurse Midwife License
  • Labor and delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with other providers to provide full scope care to the gynecologic, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patient.
  • Provide care in the outpatient clinic, OB ED, and intrapartum unit.
  • Participate in initial examination of obstetrical patient, and assume responsibility for care, treatment, and delivery of patients
