IT Support Services Technician II

The Inotiv IT organization is looking for an energetic professional to provide IT support for the Gaithersburg and Rockville sites. This onsite role focuses on providing technical IT support to enhance the business operations of these two sites.

This person needs both the organizational and communication skills to work in a professional and high paced environment. The IT Support Specialist II will need technical acumen along with a fantastic customer service approach to daily work.

Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, mobile devices and other peripherals.
• Develop, maintain, support, secure and optimize key functional areas, particularly laboratory information systems, local and wide area network infrastructure, active directory and server infrastructure, firewalls, data communications, and telecommunications systems.
• Setup new users with IT equipment and applicable software.
• Troubleshoot IT user issues.
• Assist with offboarding IT equipument as required.
• Responsible for the archiving of study data to network archive drives as specified in system/instrument specific SOPs.
• Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
• Manage and coordinate work activities with dedicated 3rd party IT support services.
• Benchmark, analyses, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
• Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
• Direct research on potential technology solutions in support of procurement efforts.
• Keep current with the latest technologies.
• Work with the various operational units and corporate IT to determine and deliver IT needs.
• Assist with the management of infrastructure assets into including contracts, licensing, and asset management
• Provide IT support for validation projects of new and current information systems. Participate in the development, review, and approval of validation deliverables and test scripts.
• Works with System Owners and SMEs to provide general IT support for validated applications (i.e.Calibration Manager, Empower, Ponemah, Provantis).
• Assist with client and regulatory visits.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Able to travel between Gaithersburg and Rockville as needed for role.

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years related IT experience

• Ability to support a services-oriented approach to plan, coordinate, design and direct IT-related solutions for the organization.
• Ability to multi-task and participate in multiple projects and department initiatives concurrently.
• Ability to function effectively independently, as necessary, and lead others to achieve department goals.
• Demonstrate understanding and expertise with company SOPs and GLP requirements relative to providing IT support.
• Overtime and weekend work as required.
• Work may require the use of PPE (personal protective equipment)
• Experience with server infrastructure implementation and networking
• Working knowledge and understanding of current Cloud Computing technologies, strategies & solutions
• Business acumen -understanding of customer value

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and/or education level.
