Job Description
Role: Line Cook / Prep Cook Location: Columbus, OH We are looking for an experience Line/Prep Cook role for Escobar Restaurant and Tapas. Escobar is a new trendy high-end bar and restaurant with a patio space and nightlife component near High Street in downtown Columbus.
You will be responsible for setting up the prep station, stocking inventory, and maintaining sanitation standards. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and multi-tasking skills.
You will play an essential role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and restaurant growth.
Detailed Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensuring the prep station and the kitchen are set up and stocked.
• Completing all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the head chef or other kitchen manager.
• Labeling and stocking all ingredients on easily accessible shelves.
• Washing, chopping, and sorting ingredients like fruits, vegetables, and meats.
• Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
• Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
• Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.
• Stocking inventory and supplies.
• Cooking menu items with the support of the kitchen staff. Skills/Basic Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent. • In-depth knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods. • Excellent communication and organizational skills. • Aptitude for multi-tasking. • Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team. Experience: 3 years of experience working as a line cook or a similar role
Job Type: Full-time Salary: $16/hr Schedule: Monday through Sunday (hours may vary day-to-day) Start Date: Immediately
